Alexandria Window Study

Artist: Reham M. Ali, Egypt
Artist statement: Sketching architectural elements such as doors, windows or any architectural details, especially of old buildings always interests me. That’s the reason my sketchbook is filled with door sketches that I usually call my rescue topic during any artistic block. And as an interior designer, my architectural background has helped me with these sketches. What I love also is adding depth to my sketch. Sometimes I can only find a door or window that seems flat, so I enjoy adding shadows to my subject to create the feeling of depth and movement to a static element like a window.

MEDIA: Ink and watercolor
SURFACE: Beta Series – Extra Heavyweight – 270 GSM – White – Cold Press Finish
