A Charcoal Drawing on Epsilon? Yes, really.

Artists are continually surprising us with their resourcefulness in using our sketchbooks in ways we never imagined possible. One recent example of this is Jeanne Powers-Forsyth’s charcoal drawing in an Epsilon Series sketchbook.  Jeanne made the charcoal work beautifully on Epsilon’s smooth surface by preparing the sheet first with gesso to to create texture beneath the charcoal.  After creating a light underdrawing in pencil, Jeanne then developed the drawing with charcoal. Jeanne reports, “the sturdy paper handled this medium [gesso] beautifully with no buckling at all.”

MEDIA:  Pencil, acrylic gesso, willow charcoal
SURFACE:  Epsilon Series – 100 Lb. (150 GSM) – Natural White – Smooth Finish
